The Power of the Little House — My Personal Experience
Gratitude to Namo Shakyamuni Buddha!
Gratitude to Namo the Greatly Compassionate and Merciful Guan Yin Bodhisattva!
Gratitude to all Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Dharma Protectors of the past, present, and future in all directions!
Gratitude to my respected Master Jun Hong Lu!
I would like to share how I miraculously found my counter within half an hour after making a vow.
May the Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva bless me. Today I learn the spirit of the Bodhisattva with a thousand hands and eyes to save all sentient beings. May my sharing today become a merit with the Bodhisattva’s blessing.
I am a Quality Control Technician, and my main responsibility is to ensure that the products are free from defects. I work 12-hour shifts in a factory, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. According to company rules, employees are not allowed to bring any personal items except for a water bottle, unless approved by the manager.
Since I am able to recite sutras at work, I usually carry a waterproof counter in my pocket to help me keep track of my recitations.
On October 26th, while I was covering my colleague’s packaging shift so he could have his break, I suddenly realized that my counter was missing. I became extremely anxious and began checking the floor and the corners around the machines while continuing to work. Since the machine was still running, I couldn’t leave my workstation. I immediately visualized Namo Guan Yin Bodhisattva and prayed sincerely for help, reciting the Cundi Dharani, Mantra To Disperse Calamities, and Mantra to Untie Karmic Knots.
I was so nervous that I could only keep working while tearfully praying to the Bodhisattva, hoping to find it before my colleague returned.
After about half an hour, I still couldn’t find it, so I had to ask my colleague for help. He also informed other staff members to search together.
One colleague asked if it might have fallen into one of the boxes, but I calmly told them that was impossible, as the boxes were higher than my pocket. Besides, if it had fallen in, it would be a huge problem—we would have to unload all the boxes from the pallet to check them.
Two hours passed, and still no one found the counter. I began to tremble. After finishing my tasks, I took my 7:30 p.m. break and opened the website to seek guidance. Suddenly, a thought appeared in my mind — I must offer a Little House.
I immediately closed my eyes, visualized Namo Guan Yin Bodhisattva, and made a vow to offer one Little House and share my experience to help others, praying for the Bodhisattva’s blessing to find the counter. I also asked my daughter to pray for me when she made incense offerings at 8 p.m. that night.
After my break, there were only about ten minutes left before finishing work. I quickly helped my colleague complete the final paperwork and asked a close co-worker to keep my contact number in case they found the counter later, so I could drive back immediately.
Employees are not allowed to stay in the factory after work and are usually asked to leave. So before being told to go, I quickly went back to search one last time. Otherwise, I would have had to write an incident report about the lost counter, and everyone would know about it.
Just then, a night-shift worker saw how distressed I was. After hearing what happened, he kindly offered to help me search. Within five minutes, he found it! I burst into tears on the spot.
So many people had searched for two hours without success, yet half an hour after I made my vow, it appeared. Namo Guan Yin Bodhisattva truly responds to sincere prayers! The Little House is truly amazing! My heart was filled with gratitude.
I would also like to share another experience.
On October 12th 2025, while I was cleaning up, I accidentally tripped over some items on the floor and fell hard to my left side. I couldn’t get up at first, but thankfully, fellow practitioners quickly came to help me.
Limping, I finished my tasks and went home. Before bed, I applied Sports Zheng Gu Shui liniment to the injured area, expecting a large bruise the next day. After several nights of massage and rubbing, no bruising appeared at all, and within about a week, the pain completely disappeared.
I am deeply grateful to Guan Yin Bodhisattva for the compassionate blessings that helped me avert disaster. As Master Lu once said, we should be especially careful within three months before and after our birthdays — and my birthday was only two months away.
I remembered a friend who once tripped on a carpet at work and fractured her wrist upon landing. Compared to her, I only suffered a minor injury — truly, the Bodhisattva protected me and turned a major calamity into something small, and a small issue into nothing.
If there is anything inappropriate or not in accordance with the Dharma in my sharing, I sincerely ask all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas for forgiveness.
I will bear my own karmic burdens and will not let my fellow practitioners bear them for me.
